About Us
Our seafood-oriented restaurant was established by three Greek brothers in 1909. Originally a bakery and a luncheonette, Athenian Seafood Restaurant and Bar was among the first in Seattle to receive a liquor license for beer in 1933. The sign above the front door has remained unchanged for over half a century.
Our restaurant’s transformation from a bakery to a tavern and eventually a restaurant is a true representation of the growth opportunities in our country.
Throughout its existence in Pike Place Market, our restaurant has served as a meeting point for people from all over the country and around the world. It has also been a sanctuary for those who have made their homes and futures in the beautiful Great Northwest.
